Eric Clapton Putting Items Up For Auction


More than 70 guitars and 70 amps has been put by Eric for auction in order to raise money for a charity to fight addiction.

On Wednesday, March 9, the event will take place in New York and anyone interested will be able to bid online.

Clapton said of the sale in a statement: "I am very happy that [auction house] Bonhams have agreed to host my third guitar auction in aid of The Crossroads Centre, Antigua, the drug and alcohol rehabilitation center I founded in 1998."

Clapton's 2006 Fender Stratocaster "Blackie Replica" is one of the biggest item up for auction which is expected to sale for $20,000 to $30,000.

There will be L.A. viewings of the items prior to the event at auction house Bonhams & Butterfields from February 18 to 20. The auction house is located at 7601 W. Sunset Blvd. from noon to 5 p.m.

Eric Clapton Has Fan In Kim Jong-Il's Son


In the family of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il,Eric Clapton has once again proved to be favorite.

The Korean Broadcasting System apparently caught Chol on camera entering the concert, which took place on Monday at Singapore’s Indoor Stadium, reports the Daily Mail.

The British singer and guitarist performance previously saw by him in Germany in 2006, and is said to have invited Clapton to perform in the North Korean capital Pyongyang.

Back home, North Koreans celebrated the country’s biggest holiday to mark the 69th birthday of their leader.

Kim’s youngest son Jong-un, in his late 20s, has been identified to succeed him, and was in appointed in 2010 to senior military and political posts, along with Kim’s sister and husband.

Eric Clapton sells guitars

Rehab clinic The Crossroads Centre in Antigua in 1998 has been founded by Eric Clapton and has placed two previous auctions to raise funds for its maintenance.

He said: "I am very happy that Bonhams have agreed to host my third guitar auction.”

Anyone hoping to own a piece of Clapton’s musical history can come up at the auction to but around 70 guitars and 70 amps.

Fans can splash out on his one-of-a-kind black Fender Stratocaster from his 2005 tour, which is expected to sell for around $30,000.

The auction will held at Bonhams & Butterfields auction house in Los Angeles, on February 17.
